Ten weeks after the 2019-20 season was suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic (which is still ongoing and will be for a while), Chelsea Football Club officially returned to “small group” training at Cobham today, Tuesday.
Arriving separately and kept in physically distanced groups of 4-5, the players were put through some conditioning exercises and a bit of light ball-work as well. Bossman Frank Lampard, Jody Morris, and the rest of the coaching staff lead the sessions, while technical
director advisor Petr Čech was present as well.
It looks like players were arriving dressed to work and left without changing, following the guidelines set out by the Premier League’s Project Restart. We’re now into Phase One of the plan, which includes testing of all the players.
As far as we know, no Chelsea player has tested positive for COVID-19 so far (since the initial case of Callum Hudson-Odoi in March).
Also, N’Golo Kanté has hair now. Truly, we’re living in unprecedented times. We’re not ready.
The world is absolutely not ready for Kante with hair.
