It has been 45 days since Juventus announced Paulo Dybala had tested positive for coronavirus. That came a few days after positive tests from Daniele Rugani and then Blaise Matuidi became known. The thing was, though, Rugani and Matuidi got a clean bill of health on April 15 — which, seeing as it’s now the first week of May, is now a decent amount of time in the past where you would have hoped Dybala’s negative test would have arrived.

That news finally has arrived.

Our boy is healthy.

Juventus announced Wednesday that Dybala, the club’s last remaining known coronavirus case, has at long last finally gotten the all clear after his month-and-a-half-long battle to get back to full health. Dybala had been in isolation with his girlfriend — who also tested positive for coronavirus — and wasn’t suffering from any kind of major symptoms when reports that a negative test hadn’t come back yet late last month.

The quick yet completely reassuring statement from Juventus:

Paulo Dybala performed, as per protocol, a double check with diagnostic tests (swabs) for Coronavirus-Covid 19, which came back with negative results. The player has, therefore, recovered and will no longer be subjected to the home isolation regime.

Yes. Yes, yes, yes.

With players starting to arrive back in Turin and those who have stayed in Italy during lockdown rolling into Juve’s facilities again for medical testing and individualized training, it was obviously one of the bigger storylines as to when Dybala would be able to be around club staff again following his continued positive status. Rugani and Matuidi were given the all-clear around a month after their positive tests, but Dybala’s case was much longer to finally kick.

Now we know he’s 100 percent again — which is a good development for a country like Italy that needs all the good news it can get after three months of absolutely crushing news every single day.

You think Paulo was happy to get a clean bill of health?

I think he was.

Seeing as Dybala has been in Italy ever since he scored that wonderful goal that has Ashley Young still wondering what the heck happened two months later, it looks like it’s only a matter of time before we see him rolling up to Juventus Training Center for some individual workouts. That’s good news — and the right kind of news that you want to hear about somebody who had to deal with being positive with this stupid, stupid virus for six weeks.
