With the season set to resume in a little more than a week and to then be finished by the end of July, we’re starting to get a small flurry of updates regarding contract extensions for players whose deals expire on June 30th.
Yesterday we learned Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson has agreed to see out the rest of the season at Bournemouth, while Adam Lallana and Liverpool were both committed to the veteran finishing the season with the Reds.
However, not every player at a Premier League or Championship club whose deal will expire at the end of the current month will be sticking around, and it appears Liverpool will have at least one of them in Nathaniel Clyne.
The club and player are also not talking about an extension beyond June 30th, meaning that when his current contract expires he will officially no longer be on the books at Liverpool—before the 2019-20 season ends.
Clyne was expected to depart the club last summer only to suffer an ACL injury against Borussia Dortmund in pre-season. On June 30th, he will be able to sign with another English club but not to play for them until next season.
