Lautaro Martínez’s signing is “very close” with only details left to hammer out, according to Argentina’s Diario Olé.

There are “thousands” of details left, but they are being hammered out as we speak by Barcelona and Inter Milan, and the signing is getting closer by the hour, it says.

The deal will not be announced until the Serie A and La Liga seasons are back, and perhaps not until the UEFA Champions League is back, we are told. And of course, you’d expect there is still some chance it could all go horribly wrong. But the Argentine paper seems very confident that their “dream” of uniting Lautaro with Lionel Messi will come true.

“Lautaro Martínez is trying on the Barcelona shirt,” they claim, although this is probably metaphorical. They have plastered their front page with a photoshop of the player wearing the blue and claret of Barcelona.
