Arnold Schwarzenegger’s recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live was interrupted by his adorable pets Whiskey and Lulu.

The actor and former Governor of California shares his home with Whiskey, a cute miniature horse, and Lulu a donkey and the trio appeared via video chat on Kimmel’s live show, which is currently being broadcast from his house.

Schwarzenegger was forced to share the limelight with the pair as they crowded around him to try and get some of his leftover lunch.

Kimmel quizzed the Terminator star on how it works having Whiskey and Lulu around the place, to which he explained that the animals have free rein to mooch about the house as they wish.

Schwarzenegger said: “They roam around the house – they go upstairs, they go downstairs, they watch me when I work out and everything like that. It’s fantastic.

“They try, of course, for the same food. Whiskey, she just loves to have oatmeal cookies. My favourite dessert is oatmeal cookies, so of course they take all my oatmeal cookies away. Right, Whiskey?”

Kimmel then asked the question we’ve all been wondering: “Are they house trained?”

To which Arnie said: “Well, you know… they’re not trained, but they very rarely go and take a dump in the house.” Good to know.

Being in lockdown with a couple of Equidae buddies might seem a bit a strange to me or you, but not for Arnie, who’s even used his pets to urge people to stay inside during the coronavirus outbreak using their picture alongside the slogan: “Don’t be an ass – stay inside.”

Arnie created a range of t shirts and hoodies baring the phrase to help raise money for underprivileged families who are impacted by the crisis.

Arnie backed a fundraising page Flexport.org, an international aid group that is working to deliver life-saving medical equipment to those who need it.

Speaking about the initiative, the 72-year-old said: “Our doctors, nurses and hospital staff are the real action heroes of this crisis. I just play one in the movies.

“We have an opportunity and a responsibility to provide them with personal protective equipment right now to keep them safe as they fight this virus, so when I heard about Flexport.org’s plan, this was a no-brainer to me.

“With all of the courageous work they are doing on the front-lines to keep us safe, buying a few hundred thousand masks with a million dollars is the least I can do. Please take a moment to join me in supporting our heroes.”
