With the world almost at a standstill and individuals mandated to isolate from one another, businesses around the world are suffering from serious setbacks. Entrepreneurs, freelancers and even employees are left with little or no option on how to grow financially as various sources of income are being rendered dormant. “Covid-19 has brought a lot of fear into the African economy. Businesses are closing and people are losing jobs. There are talks about introducing stimulus packages but how far can they truly go with 195 Million people in Nigeria alone?”, Techpreneur, CEO of TrainQuarters platform and author of the bestselling book, Knowledge is the New Gold, Stephanie Obi is asking the real questions and thinking post-COVID.
For years, Stephanie Obi has been changing the game by empowering and educating entrepreneurs (especially women) on how to create their own online courses in areas where they possess great knowledge and expertise.
In 2019, she launched the TrainQuarters platform to further promote this cause making it the first all-in-one course selling platform in Africa. Here, entrepreneurs with little or no knowledge about tech get to monetize their knowledge using TrainQuarter’s easy to use features.
Today, Obi has brought another solution, this time to solve the prevailing financial struggles brought about by the global pandemic.
“In these trying times, there is an untapped resource that Africans can utilize to generate tangible income – Our Knowledge.Africa has a unique story of survival. We have learnt our own way of doing things and creating diverse solutions that are peculiar to our own unique African reality. This knowledge can be turned into online courses and sold globally.” Obi says.
She launched the Knowledge is the New Gold challenge to eliminate the initial challenges African entrepreneurs face when they begin to create online courses”. In this challenge, “Entrepreneurs gain clarity on what to teach, confidence to appropriately price, strategies on how to market their courses and receive technical assistance to set up their online courses using our pioneer knowledge tech platform for Africans- TrainQuarters” Obi reveals.
Over 200 African entrepreneurs have signed up for the first stream of the Knowledge is the New Gold challenge which also included a partnership with SheCluded- a growth finance company for female entrepreneurs, who provided short term loans to qualified candidates.
Stephanie Obi is on a mission. In her words, “by the end of 2020, our mission is to have 10,000 entrepreneurs who have created wealth using our signature online course method.” To participate in the challenge, partner on this initiative and to receive regular updates, please contact email@example.com or www.stephanieobi.com
